The TAL Conference Has Attracted Well‑Known Experts

The Aimtec company hosted the international Trends in Automotive Logistics (TAL) conference in the AUREOLE restaurant in June. Main topic of the already 17th conference was the Industry 4.0 initiative as seen from perspective of supplier chain integration within automotive industry. Representatives of significant European institutions, component suppliers and manufacturers, logistics providers, and leading providers of information technologies contributed as lecturers.

TAL – Central Europe as a head of Industry 4.0

The Trends in Automotive Logistics conference (TAL) took place on June 9th, 2016. This annual and eagerly awaited action took place in an interesting and attractive environment again – the 28th floor of the Prague highest building, in Pankrác. The AUREOLE restaurant provided its inviting spaces. Subtitle of the TAL conference was topic of Middle Europe as a head of Industry 4.0. The program focused on the mentioned initiative from the view of supplier chain. The core idea was looking for ways, how the manufacturing companies from Middle Europe can become valuable partners and heads for discovering concepts and solutions in this, presently very discussed, area. Real applications and projects from logistics, production management, integration, and electronic communication were obviously presented too.

Main organizer of the TAL conference was the Aimtec company. The conference was held under the patronage of the Odette ČR organization and the Association of Automotive Industry. General partner was the Voiteq company, a leading global supplier of voice-aided solutions. The action was also supported by several other important Czech and foreign companies from the area of logistics and information technologies – ESP holding, JK Logistika, J.K.R., Lintech, SAP ČR and Schoeller Allibert.

Modern technologies, real projects

Professional program of the TAL conference was running from morning hours. The conference was opened by Mr. Roman Žák, the Aimtec company board director, who greeted all participants. His lecture was about practical application of the Industry 4.0 methods. This topic was further elaborated in the following lecture of Christian Schwede, chief of information logistics in the Fraunhofer Institut for material flow and logistics in Dortmund, who spoke of the SMART FACE project focused on development of de-centrally controlled production of electric transport vehicles, involving the Industry 4.0 technologies and concepts. Nils Knofius from the University of Twente presented a topic of 3D printed spare parts and implications to after-sale operations.

How to control automotive logistics not only for car manufacturers – this was a contribution of Tomáš Mucka, general manager of the Sumisho Global Logistics company. The opinion of a company, which does not work in automotive industry, but which is a significant manufacturer of transportation technology, was explained by Michal Horáček, director of logistics in the ŠKODA TRANSPORTATION company. He spoke of reasons why it is wise to employ a WMS (Warehouse Management System) for managing warehouse also in custom manufacturing. Lecture about electronic data exchange and ClouEDI implementation was the last before the break and was delivered by Jan Stočes, IT manager of the Agor Tech company. General partner, the Voiteqcompany, led by Andrew Gusk, chief executive manager, shared information from projects in logistics in automotive environment, where picking from warehouse is voiced-controlled. The very finish of the formal part of the day was dedicated to Anna Kuchařová, an acclaimed slackliner. She demonstrated her skills to curious guests directly in the hall. The whole action was hosted by Štěpánka Duchková.

Celebrating AIMTEC’s twenty years on the global market

After the TAL conference end a gala evening in the AUREOLE restaurant took place. It was celebrating Aimtec’s twenty years on the global market. Štěpánka Duchková, the host of conference, interviewed the Aimtec founders, Jaroslav Follprecht and Roman Žák, at opening – asking questions related to the company’s 20th anniversary. Jiří Král, the chef, took care of guests during the banquet and prepared an excellent and unique culinary experience. In addition to an illusionist also singer Jana Kirschner with her band were the entertainers of the evening. Unique view of the capital decorated the very pleasant atmosphere.
