Futaba Czech is a subsidiary of the Japanese company Futaba Industrial. This engineering firm turns steel and other materials into products sold primarily to the automotive industry. Its main commodities are car-body parts, exhausts, instrument-panel supports and functional components.
In 2005, Aimtec deployed the WMS within Aimtec DCIx at Futaba’s shipping department. In 2010 this system was expanded to receipt of materials, production release and the scrap register. In 2014 the MES data collection system within Aimtec DCIx was deployed here as well. First at two welding lines, and later at ten moulding lines. An Asprova APS system for advanced production planning and scheduling was deployed as well. The solution enabled a 50% reduction in inventory levels and a decrease in the number of planners.
Throughout the long-term collaboration with Aimtec, continuous improvements have been made to the implemented WMS, MES, and APS systems. In 2024, Futaba Czech decided to implement Aimtec Data Intelligence, a solution that eliminates errors in production data and ensures the required data quality. To achieve accurate reporting, meet defined production KPIs, and provide timely reports to the parent company, the plant transitioned to new reporting tools – Ignition and Power BI.
