25 Years, 25 Charity Projects. For Aimtec, 2021 Was a Year of Aid.

  • 12/1/2022

Children’s homes, doctor training and sport clubs, as well as support for seniors and planting trees. Aimtec has aid in its DNA, so it was only natural for it to approach its 25th year a bit untraditionally. Its employees chose 25 charity projects where they wanted to help – one for each year that Aimtec has been around. Every employee could contribute through either volunteer work, donations or their experience and skills. Read all about the projects that captured our hearts.

Health – and Help – Through Motion

When you truly want to help, sometimes you really work up a sweat. That was definitely the case for the two charity runs in which the Aimtec team participated. The first one, Run for Procit, supported families that have children with autism spectrum disorder. It was followed just one week later by the Run for the Memory of the Nation, whose proceeds funded efforts to record recollections

A Volunteer Goody Grab and Second-Hand Fashion

Two activities sought to help children’s homes, for which Aimtec employees raised a respectable 30,000 crowns. During the volunteer goody grab, Aimtec’s offices filled up with home-made cakes, pies and other treats made by the company’s employees themselves, and for every treat purchased, money flowed out to Spolu dětem, an organisation that helps children from children’s homes to join clubs, start careers and more.

The second-hand fashion event used a similar concept. It primarily brought together the women of Aimtec, who lightened – but also enriched – their wardrobes to help the Domino children’s home, where the children wished to finish stocking up their ceramics workshop.

For a Cleaner and Greener

Pilsen Employees had a chance to go hands-on alongside Trash Hero Pilsen, a group that organises regular clean-ups of the dirtier parts of the city. A planned tree-planting in 2022 will be another step to help out nature at least a little.

For more Girls, Grannies and Grandpas in IT

Since Aimtec is an IT firm, it set a goal for itself in 2021 to promote people’s knowledge in this field. Alongside a special programming course for girls in cooperation with the business-support specialists at SIT Port, the Aimtec staff also headed out to help senior citizens through the TOTEM volunteer organisation.

The Reward for Helping Helped Again

Each year, Aimtec supports several non-profit organisations, and in 2020 also started sending financial support to University Hospital Pilsen for its fight against the coronavirus. In 2021, Aimtec received 5,000 dollars for this aid from Zebra Technologies, and these funds let it delight another non-profit organisation. The entire sum journeyed onwards to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, with which Aimtec has cooperated for many years.

Besides the activities above, the twenty-five projects selected in 2021 included other forms of aid that Aimtec provides every year. This includes for example the Summer School of Experimental Surgery and the Roman Kreuziger Cycling Academy, as well as the #AimtecHackathon, which motivates and cultivates programmers right from their first school years.
