LASSELSBERGER

Higher work efficiency and lower costs thanks to automation

LASSELSBERGER RAKO Case study

LASSELSBERGER is an Austrian group of manufacturing companies. It has three main divisions: one each for the production of ceramic tiles, building materials and raw materials. The RAKO brand, a member of this group, is among Europe’s largest producers of ceramic wall and floor tiles, with over 1,300 employees at five plants, and 28 million m² of ceramic tiles produced per year.

The cooperation with Aimtec began with the decision by the group’s Czech branch to transfer all logistics management into the company’s main SAP ERP system, without a superstructure in the form of other software. However, the requirements that LASSELSBERGER places upon the Warehouse Management System are evolving over time, as the entire company itself develops and grows. Today, Aimtec is the LASSELSBERGER Group’s global WMS partner, and its system is ready for deployment at branches worldwide. The two companies’ long-term partnership makes cooperation on new projects significantly faster and more efficient. This cooperation has most recently resulted in the partial automation of the RAKO distribution centre in Chlumčany. The project is presented in detail in a case study.

  • Shipping is smoother.
  • Employee capacities are used more effectively.
  • Work with pallets is one-third faster, and for manual picking it is over 50% faster.
  • Storage capacity has increased by 40%, while costs have dropped by 25%.
  • Customer complaints have been reduced by 50%.
