TAL 2021 seeks the key to successful logistics digitalisation

  • 2/9/2021

Practical experience, case studies, the latest technologies, and a place for production, logistics and IT experts from the European automotive sector to meet and debate – that’s the Trends in Automotive Logistics conference. This year’s TAL, coming to Pilsen on 21 September, is organised by Aimtec in cooperation with IHK Regensburg and DTIHK.

What’s the right solution: full automation, or partial automation?
How flexible should a corporate IT standard be?
Should you start with a vision, or mainly just start?
Which work will we leave to machines, and which to humans?

Often when planning and executing digitalisation projects, we have to balance two opposite poles in our solutions. Does the key to successfully digitalising logistics lie precisely in finding the perfect balance? And how do you seek it? The speakers of this year’s TAL – the 21st year of this event – will help you find the answers.

Highlighting a few key programme points, Aimtec’s chairman of the board Roman Žák notes: “Speakers from SEAT:CODE will talk about the importance of the digital transformation, about predictive management, and about an innovative approach to EDI message flow analysis. Björn Karlsson, CEO of Weland Solutions, will open up a topic that will resonate with a lot of our attendees: automation at existing plants. And Tolga Özkundakci from IAC Group will present the challenges and benefits of standardising IT solutions in big corporations.”

“We’re looking forward to sharing our view of groundbreaking innovations in intralogistics”, explains Michael Schneider, CEO of idealworks, a BMW Group’s subsidiary founded in late 2020, who will be represented at this year’s TAL as one of the main conference partners. In a bit of a teaser for his presentation, Schneider notes: “For example we’ll be showing how the development and integration of AMR is influenced by advanced, photorealistic simulation.”

This year like every year, TAL also has a social side. Besides all the lectures and partner presentations, an action-packed side programme has been prepared as well. Marco Prüglmeier – who earned the Deutscher Logistik-Preis award along with his team during his time at BMW Group in 2019 – will be presenting his book on innovations in logistics. Markéta Navrátilová will be speaking on the logistics of photographing cyclists at the Tour de France – and more. The evening’s networking will be accompanied by the music of Adrian T. Bell. And Aimtec will be celebrating its 25th birthday!

The TAL conference (Trends in Automotive Logistics) brings together inspiring speakers from the practical and academic spheres with experts in manufacturing, logistics and IT. It’s a space for discussing the latest topics in logistics, manufacturing, integration and more – and a presentation point for new technologies, methods and resources from the world of digitalisation.
